Local creative collaborations
A program for the Waverley local creative community to connect and create at Bondi Pavilion
Our Local Creative Collaborations program will support local artists to create and develop work, offering showings for local audiences and making a positive contribution to the development of a vibrant artistic life at the Bondi Pavilion.
This opportunity is available to local creatives at all stages of their practice from emerging to established. We recognise locals as any Waverley Council resident or any creative with a demonstrable connection to the Waverley community.
Priority will be given to local creatives and/or projects with a strong resonance to the local community and local audiences.
The key focus of the Round TWO EOI was to provide opportunities for creative development of new performing arts works in the Bondi Pavilion's Yalagang Room. Located on the Ground Floor, this is a multi-purpose, multi-artform community and creative space, and will drive the artistic life of the Bondi Pavilion building.
The Bondi Pavilion is an inclusive cultural space, welcoming applications from individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds including First Nations, culturally and linguistically diverse, all sexualities, genders, neurodiversities and access artists.

- Round TWO applications have now closed. Please check back for Round THREE in the coming months for opportunities in late 2024.
Waverley Council will offer a tiered structure for support as follows:
- Subsidised - Subsidised venue hire, all other costs responsibility of artists, small public outcome optional for local community/invited audience.
- Supported - Subsidised venue hire, all venue and technical staff provided in-kind, agreed contribution to artists’ fees, small public outcome requirement for local community/invited audience.
Timeframes
We expect most proposals for use of this space will be for either 1 or 2 weeks maximum. However, if your project doesn’t fit into this model, feel free to talk with us about your idea.
Assessment
All EOIs are reviewed by an internal programming and curatorial panel, and applicants will be advised of the results of their submission within 6 weeks of the closing date of the relevant round.
Successful applicants will receive a letter of offer and then an agreement outlining the details of their program and agreed public outcomes.
Specific criteria for each program will be outlined in the each EOI application form, however projects across all program strands will be assessed against the following core project aims:
- Inspire vibrant and connected communities.
- Showcase great art and great artists.
- Advance smart sector partnerships.
- Foster engaged audiences.
