Explore the true-life stories that connect people with each other and the city with the sea. Welcome to Bondi Story Room, an interactive digital exhibition of Bondi’s many wonders.

There are thousands of stories where the city meets the sea. Stories about people, community and belonging. Stories about legends living and gone, memories made and milestones celebrated. Welcome to Bondi Story Room.

The Story Room is an interactive digital exhibition telling the story of notable people, places and events of Bondi’s past. Created in collaboration with the local community, the Gujaga Foundation, and numerous local organisations, and crafted by award-winning technologists and storytellers Grumpy Sailor, this evergreen exhibition is designed to help you get lost in the Bondi story.

Explore chronicles of original Indigenous peoples, the birth of surf lifesaving, female pioneers, waves of migration, surf legends, early settlers and major events that have woven their way into the rich history of this place. You are invited to navigate the fascinating narratives that have shaped Bondi and to tell your stories as we continue to write and share our history.
