There are many different ways to preserve food; from drying, fermenting, cooking, dehydrating and pickling. Once upon a time, this knowledge was an every day life. But since convenience became king, many people have lost these ancient skills.

Join us to learn about some key preserving methods and what you will need to get started. View live demonstrations, ask lots of questions and afterwards, enjoy putting this knowledge into action. We'll send you a summary of the talk and recipes to try at home. Preserving your food makes it last longer and is a great way to reduce waste.

This is a free workshop. Your deposit will be refunded after you attend the event (less the booking fee). Please note, we can't refund no-shows, just let us know beforehand if you can't come and we'll be happy to refund you.

Your host for the evening will be Sustainability powerhouse, Margaret Mossakowska from Mosshouse. Growing up in the Polish countryside, Margaret grew up close to this traditional knowledge, and followed her mum's example by making everything from scratch and preserving seasonal produce. Now, Margaret lives in Australia and has a wonderful and productive vegetable garden and facilitates workshops to help others learn valuable homesteading skills.
