A Bondi Festival 2024 event.
Acclaimed singer-songwriter Ruby Hunter gave her first ever public performance at Bondi Pavilion in 1988. In a special world premiere event, join a stellar line-up of performers including Dan Sultan, Emily Wurramara, Earl Weir, Matilda Brown, John James, Michael Tramonte, Elliott Hammond, Daniel McNamee, Jack Moffitt and Walangari Karntawarra as they pay tribute to the legacy of the late Ngarrindjeri, Kokatha and Pitjantjatjara musican.
With the support of Hunter's family, Proud, Proud Woman: A Ruby Hunter Tribute promises to be a magical night of songs and stories from the influential artist's inspiring music catalogue.
Resonating with this year's NAIDOC theme of 'Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud!', the concert promises to launch NAIDOC week with a powerful homage to Hunter's profound contributions to music and her ability to champion the rights of Aboriginal women and children through her songs.
This National NAIDOC Week activity is funded by the National Indigenous Australian Agency.
